"Ain't nothin' better in the world you know, than lyin' in the sun with your radio..."
So sang the band Lighthouse in their 1972 smash hit, Sunny Days. Lighthouse continues to perform to this day, often featuring Jeans 'n Classics keyboardist Don Paulton.
But while many (including me!) are enjoying summer vacation, life at Jeans 'n Classics continues. Actually, the past 45 days have seen our intrepid J'nC performers present concerts, among others, in a hockey rink (Roanoke Va), at a minor league baseball park before a game (Cedar Rapids Iowa), and in beautiful outdoor botanical gardens (Fort Worth Tx). Clearly we're more than just concert hall staples!
And later this month, July 23rd to be precise, Jeans 'n Classics will be presenting the Music of Led Zeppelin in Niagara Falls NewYork, out front of the Hard Rock Cafe, in conjunction with the Buffalo Philharmonic.
Recently the band was in Hamilton Ontario performing with the National Academy Orchestra at the Brott Music Festival. Checkout the Jeans 'n Classics Facebook page for plenty of great photos of that show. (http://www.facebook.com/jeansnclassics?sk=wall)
Elsewhere, Jeans 'n Classics saxophonist and vocalist Aaron Macdonald continues to tour the world with Supertramp great Roger Hodgson. Check out this interview that Aaron gave recently to writers at one of Roger's fan sites...http://soapboxasylum.forumactif.net/t455-interview-d-aaron-macdonald-logical-web.
Aaron will be with us on many Jeans 'n Classics stops throughout the 2011-2012 seaon.
And Jeans 'n Classics drummer Dale Anne Brendon has made a bit of news recently as she handles the drums in the world famous Stratford Festival's production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Read about her experiences here...http://www.lfpress.com/entertainment/stage/2011/07/01/18363636.html
